It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that the Manchester Eagles make the following announcement:
Richard "Ricky" A. McGregor was attending school on Friday May 26, 2006. He was playing on the playground like any other day when he collapsed. Ricky was transported to the ElliotHospital where he passed away a short time later. A cause has yet to be determined. Ricky was 13 years old.
"Little Ricky," as he was know to his family and friends, was passionate about the game of football. Last year while playing quarterback for the AYF Manchester East Cobras, Ricky lead his team to the State Title in the Jr. Midget Division. It was a feat that he was extremely proud of and one he look forward to repeating at the Midget level with the Eagles. Prior to playing for the Cobras he played for the Hooksett Hurricanes.
Ricky was an accomplished athlete and a diligent student. In the off season Ricky was and avid golfer and skier. He also played basketball and was a gifted student. But he was most happy playing football. He was a student of the game; he took every opportunity to improve his skills as well as his knowledge. Little Ricky was loved by all that knew him and he will be missed beyond words.
Rick and Sherry McGregor have been an intergal part of the founding of the Eagles program. Rick has been the President of the Board since its inception and Sherry has been the Volunteer Coordinator for the same period of time. Without their hard work we would not be where we are today. Both Rick and Sherry have vowed to honor the memory of their son by staying on in their current capacities and making the Manchester Eagles become a reality.
The Eagles will also honor their son by retiring Ricky's #3 jersey at a ceremony prior to our first home game.
In lieu of flowers the Mcgregor's have asked that donations be made in memory of their son to the Manchester Eagles Pop Warner Football and Spirit Association, PO Box 375 Manchester NH 03105.

Hooksett Jamboree Renamed
Every year the Hooksett Hurricanes host a "Kickoff Classic." It is well known that this is the largest Pop Warner Football jamboree in the world. Each year it attracts multiple teams from associations across NH and MA. In light of the recent events the Board of Directors from Hooksett has made the decision to rename the jamboree. It will now be known as the Ricky McGregor "Huricane Kickoff Classic."
We would like to thank the Hurricanes for this honor and look forward to attending the jamboree.
